Preparing for hurricane and tidal wave with Dad and a sister (not my actual dad and sister.) Trying to protect dad’s antique but still highly functional lard sized and monitor free computer. Together we kept system functioning. I was out watching people preparing for and warning others about approaching destructive wave. I saw a woman in the country preparing for her wedding. I warned her to seek shelter. I accidentally left my phone in her home/kitchen when I was getting something to eat. (It was returned to me by someone later, after wave emergency was over.) I saw tv footage of people surviving the wave. I also viewed images of the destructive wave as it hit shore.) then I was discussing with dad and sister our joy at having saved dad’s computer. Then I was alone in a small house. It was some kind of Native American chief celebration holiday that no one was actually observing. I went for a walk down a deserted small town main street. I was looking for a Native American related gift for a Native American male friend. I entered a few shops. I only found a small silver candy holder. The shop only had a small bag of candy I didn’t like. I went by another gift shop. A woman who was working there was trying to get her two young sons to behave. I saw 2 small honey suckers in her shop. I was considering buying the suckers for the silver candy holder gift, but I ate them instead. Then I woke up.
Dreams like the one you described often contain a mixture of familiar and unfamiliar elements that symbolize various aspects of your subconscious mind. Let's break down the different parts of your dream to better understand it.
Preparing for a Natural Disaster with Family Members You Don't Recognize: Dreaming about preparing for a hurricane and tidal wave often signifies feeling overwhelmed or anticipating significant changes in your life. The fact that you were with a dad and sister who aren't your actual family suggests that these figures may represent aspects of yourself or significant relationships in your life that require attention or protection.
The Antique Computer: The antique computer might represent an important aspect of your past, perhaps a skill, memory, or a principle you've been maintaining, that seems outdated but still of value. Keeping it functioning with your dream “family” could indicate a need to preserve important values or skills amidst impending change.
Warning Others and Helping Prepare: Your actions of warning others about the wave suggest a protective nature and a desire to help those around you, possibly reflecting your real-life tendencies to care for others or consider how your actions influence those around you.
The Wedding Preparation: Seeing a woman preparing for a wedding and leaving your phone behind might indicate a division of focus between new beginnings or personal transformations (embodied by the wedding) and connectivity or communication (symbolized by the phone). Forgetting your phone may suggest worries about losing touch with some part of yourself or others, though the phone’s return suggests that these connections won't be lost permanently.
Witnessing the Wave on Television: Watching the impact of the wave implies that there may be a situation in your life you are currently watching unfold at a distance, perhaps affecting others more directly than yourself.
Rejoicing Over Saving the Computer: Celebrating the preservation of the antique computer alongside your dream family indicates satisfaction in maintaining what you hold dear, despite adversity.
Native American Celebration and Gift Search: The solitary walk through a deserted town, celebrating a Native American holiday alone, may symbolize a search for identity or understanding of traditions, possibly reflecting your exploration of cultural heritage or connections. The specific search for a gift for a Native American friend might suggest a deep appreciation or desire to acknowledge and honor a part of your or their cultural background.
Interactions in Shops: The various shops and their offerings could symbolize options or choices available to you, with the candy holder and candy perhaps representing how you package and present aspects of yourself to others. Eating the honey suckers instead of gifting them may symbolize indulging in immediate pleasures or desires rather than saving them for others.
Overall, your dream seems to weave a narrative of protecting and preserving essential elements of your past amidst change, cautiously balancing responsibilities, connections, and identity explorations, alongside desires or indulgences. It hints at resilience and adaptability, emphasizing the importance of integrating your values and experiences even when faced with overwhelming changes.
